Following Jesus is about a lifetime of discovery. It isn't a "one and done" kind of decision, but rather a daily walk of discovering how to be more like him in our personal lives, our relationships, and how we relate to the world around us. ​

With that in mind, there are several NEXT STEPS to help you discover a deeper and richer life - the life that God has called you to live in Christ. 

1. FOLLOW JESUS

​​We believe that following Jesus is the most important decision you will ever make, so we want to help you count the cost before you make that decision. 

Jesus never promised his followers that life would be easy once they surrendered to him. In fact, he said just the opposite.

Following Jesus is about making a choice daily to "die to self," and to "pick up our cross" and follow him. 

2. GET BAPTIZED

Once you decide to make Jesus Lord and Leader of your life, your NEXT STEP is to get baptized. 

At Suburban, we baptize by full-bodied immersion in water. We do that "in the name of" (under the authority of) the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. 

Baptisms can happen on any day and at any time. In the Bible, baptisms happened without delay when someone expressed faith in following Jesus. 

JOIN A GROUP

In the process of growing and maturing in your faith, we believe that that best happens in community with other believers. 

After you are baptized we have a series of "6 Conversations" where you sit down with a Pastor and have a conversation about exploring and growing in your faith. 

After that, we encourage you to get connected with a Community Group or a Sunday Morning Group to continue to help you grow. 

SERVE ON THE TEAM

There are a lot of moving pieces in a community of believers. We have several ministries that happen in our building on Sunday morning and throughout the week. There are also ministries that engage with our community in important ways. 

So to continue to grow, we believe the best way to do that is to serve other people. 

We can help you get connected to a ministry (i.e. KidMin, Worship, Visual Arts, Food Ministry, Hospitality, etc).
